Talita Nogueira on Interview

13073822316260.g.jpg

The new black belt Talita Nogueira from São Paulo, Brazil, is the new big name within the female BJJ world since she beated several black belts, including Penny Thomas in the medium heavy final, at the 2011 Worlds two weeks ago.
When on 5th June she won the most important BJJ championship in the world, she did not only make her dream true, she also inspired and became an idol for many people, specially women, since she is not a simple athlete, she is also a mum of a 7 years-old—daughter. She showed us that combining family and a World Champion title is not only possible, it is a reality.

The muse of Jiu Jitsu

Some time ago I read in a blog that many people would like to see a translation of A musa do jiu-jítsu, an article which was published in Portuguese only.

So here you can find an unofficial translation, made by me, so please forgive whatever mistakes you can find.

Hope you enjoy it!

Andre Nunes on Interview

andrelogohamburgo.JPG

Andre Nunes is a Gracie Barra Black Belt 2.Grade. He is has been doing BJJ for more than 30 years and is right now in Germany to share with us all his knowledge. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, he has been living in Sevilla (Spain) for 10 years and during that time he has built up a team of about 60 people distributed over 3 academies. And everything started with a single student, Andre tell us, who was interested on BJJ  and asked about it during a Judo lesson. That student, that many of you may know, is Samuel, a purple belt 4th stripes who is now instructor at Zanshin Dojo in Hamburg and at Sportschule-Hamburg.

We have the great opportunity to have Andre training us for a whole month at Zanshin and giving seminars in Kenpockan (Hannover), Sportschule Hamburg and Düsseldorf.  Of course I could not let pass the chance to interview him and get to kow better this amazing person and professor.

João Crus is on seminars tour in Europe. Since he arrived in January, he has already given seminars in Spain (Seville and Zaragoza), worked as referee at the European Championship in Portugal (Lisboa) and just arrived to Germany to teach seminars in Hamburg, Hannover and Berlin. We are happy to have him and I used the opportunity to interview him so that we get to know better this amazing man, who beside training daily BJJ and being still an active competitor, practices windsurfing, teaches BJJ to kids in all ages and just  faced a very difficult situation in his private life after the illness of his wife, who luckly is now recovering well after the operation.

Leticia Ribeiro on Interview

Leticia Ribeiro

Leticia Ribeiro N. Dos Santos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 24, 1979 and she is a 3rd degree BJJ black belt and multiple time world champion in the sport. She is associated with the Gracie Humaita school.

It is unbeliavable everything what she has achieved so far. I can't count any more how many times she has been World Champion... a list of all her title would not fit in a blog like this, but if you are curious though, you can check it f.e. in wikipedia.

I had the amazing opportunity to interview her right before she came to Europe to fight at the European Championships and to promote her beautiful new Gi (limited edition)
